Over 150 people booked for encroaching upon PMC land in Mundhwa

Pune: Mundhwa police have registered a case of trespassing and unlawful assembly against 150 people after they entered PMC’s land in Keshavnagar and started building hutments in the last three days. A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official (38) from Hadapsar lodged a complaint in this regard with the police on Saturday.

Police said all these people are either casual workers or sell trinkets on roadsides. The land, according to the police, is used by the PMC to process solid waste. The booked people had entered this space and used bamboo sticks and polythene sheets to make hutments. The police also said the people entered the land, secured by a compound wall, and made the the hutments without any permission. A PMC official who visited the site on Thursday noticed the development and raised the issue.
