Woman, 2 kids found dead in well near Pabal; husband held on charge of abetting suicide | Pune News



Pune: A brick kiln worker was arrested on Monday on the charge of abetting suicide, a day after his wife (30), their son (5) and their four-month-old daughter were found dead in a well near Pabal village in Shirur taluka, about 62km from the city.Police identified the deceased as Bhagyashri Jadhav, her son Sarthak and daughter Guari. The woman’s sister filed a complaint with the Shikrapur police in rural Pune after the incident.An officer from the Shikrapur police said the family hailed from Buldhana district and stayed in Pabal for the past few months. Bhagyashri and her husband, Raju Jadhav, were brick kiln workers.“Bhagyashri argued with her husband over some domestic issue on Sunday morning. In a fit of rage, she took her two children with her, along with her son’s bicycle,” the officer said. When she did not return home until afternoon, Raju started searching for her. He saw his son’s bicycle and his wife’s chappals near the well at a farm some distance away from their house. “Raju checked the well and spotted his daughter’s body afloat. He immediately alerted residents of the area and the police. After a search, the bodies of the woman and her son were taken out of the water,” the officer said. The victim’s sister stated in her complaint that Raju harassed Bhagyashri and would often quarrel with her. “We arrested him on the charge of suicide abetment and are investigating the matter,” the officer said.
