Neon has released the first trailer for I Love Boosters, the new feature from writer-director Boots Riley, ahead of the film’s world premiere as the opening night selection at the SXSW Film and Television Festival in Austin, Texas.

I Love Boosters follows Corvette, played by Keke Palmer, a sharp-tongued organiser who leads a collective of women with a carefully planned scheme to steal luxury clothing from the retail empire of a high-profile fashion designer and reselling the items at lower prices. Demi Moore plays the mogul at the center of their operation, whose carefully cultivated brand becomes the target of both theft and satire.
The ensemble cast includes Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza González, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, and Don Cheadle. Each appears briefly in the trailer, hinting at a chaotic mix of collaborators, adversaries, and bystanders caught up in the escalating fallout of the group’s actions.
Riley wrote and directed the film, continuing the politically charged and surreal style he explored in Sorry to Bother You and the television series I’m a Virgo. Production was handled by Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Allison Rose Carter, and Jon Read.

SXSW previously announced I Love Boosters as its opening night film, with festival leadership praising Riley’s latest project as bold, unpredictable, and sharply original.
The film is set for a theatrical release on May 22.
