Pune: A Dhayari resident, Bhima Rajendra Jadhav (27), died, while the car driver, Shubham Dumble (27), suffered injuries after their vehicle rammed a slow-moving truck from the rear around 2.45am on Saturday on the Katraj–Navale Bridge road.Senior inspector Sharad Zine of the Ambegaon police said Jadhav and Dumble had visited a temple in Dive Ghat. “After offering prayers and having food, the duo were returning to Dhayari when the accident occurred,” he said.
“The deceased and the car driver work with different private companies in the city,” he said.According to police, the truck and the car were travelling from Katraj Chowk towards Navale Bridge, along a stretch that slopes downward.“The truck was initially moving at a good speed, but suddenly slowed down and changed direction. The car, which was following the truck, applied sudden brakes but failed to stop in time, resulting in a rear-end collision,” Zine said.Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the truck driver.
