Navi Mumbai: APMC police have arrested 11 accused for murdering a youth by assaulting him with sharp weapons in Kopra village in Vashi node. The murder was an outcome of a quarrel between the victim and the key accused whom the victim had slapped over a dispute between them when they had had gone to Ajmer Sharif dargah in Rajasthan with their respective group of friends. Investigating officer PSI Govind Kute at APMC police station said the murder victim was identified as Amit Yadav (20). “Initially, we had arrested four accused within 12 hours and gradually seven of their aides were arrested in two days. The arrested accused are Rafi Shaikh, Arham Patel, Prakash Singh, Ajay Nirmal, Wasim Raain, Sohail Shaikh, Sahil, Sufian Khan, Apsar Patel, Aman Khan and Mohammed Shaikh, all in the age group of 20-25. The court has remanded them to jail custody”. SI Ajay Shinde said Yadav and the eleven accused were sharing a dormitory. A quarrel broke out between Yadav and Sohail, but they settled the matter amicably as it was a religious place. After returning to Navi Mumbai, an argument ensured between them, after which Sohail called his 10 friends. They assaulted him with choppers and fled. Yadav was declared brought dead at NMMC hospital in Vashi.
