Man arrested, 3 apprehended for fatal assault in east Delhi | Delhi News



New Delhi: A 22-year-old man was arrested and three minors were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the fatal assault of an associate over the distribution of criminal proceeds in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar.The deceased, a vagabond from Kanpur living under the Mandawali railway bridge, was involved with local criminals in snatchings and thefts, police said. His body, showing multiple stab and injuries to the abdomen, face, neck and head, was discovered on Thursday.A case under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS was registered at Preet Vihar police station and three teams were formed to trace the accused. “Extensive CCTV analysis helped track the movements of the deceased and identify the suspects,” said Addl CP (east) Abhishek Dhania.Based on the evidence, the accused were identified as the main accused (22), along with two 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old. They were nabbed. The main accused told cops that a quarrel over verbal abuse and sharing criminal proceeds led them to assault the vagabond with stones, knives and fists, resulting in his death, after which the accused fled the scene.
