New Delhi: Delhi has reported nine dengue cases so far this month, according to Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) latest report on vector-borne diseases released on Jan 17. Despite the cold weather, mosquito breeding continues, prompting the civic body to urge residents to remain vigilant and adopt preventive measures. Of the nine cases reported this year, five persons contracted the infection outside Delhi. No chikungunya or malaria cases have been reported so far this year. The civic body said it has intensified field action, conducting around 13.3 lakh household visits this year. tnn
