Navi Mumbai: After arresting two linked to the murder case of an unidentified man, whose body was found dumped along Tamhini ghat in Mangaon police station’s jurisdiction, police have succeeded in tracing and arresting the absconding key accused Prajwal Hambir while he was enroute from Solapur towards Pune. Raigad police had detected the murder of the victim, whose body was assaulted by lethal weapons and was found dumped on Jan 11. Using technical expertise, it was found that the murder victim was as a Pune resident. By coordinating with Pune police, two accused were arrested from Pune within eight hours, while the key accused who was at large was traced and arrested on a later date.
Nivrutti Borhade, senior inspector of Mangaon police station said the accused had escaped in an MUV belonging to the victim’s relative. The MUV in which the victim and accused were travelling was zeroed-in. It was found that they were travelling to Mahabaleshwar for weekend picnic. On the way, a verbal spat ensued between the victim and the three accused over contribution in the investment in a property that one of the accused wanted to purchase. Probably, the quarrel broke out after a liquor session and the three accused killed the victim. Anchal Dalal, Raigad SP said, “The victim was identified as Aditya Ganesh Bhagat (22). The information led to the accused — Aniket Waghmare (26) and Tushar Patole (24).
