Mumbai: While BJP’s Tejasvee Ghosalkar had a thunderous victory from Ward 2, her brother-in-law, Saurabh Ghosalkar, from Shiv Sena (UBT) wasn’t as lucky from Ward 7. Saurabh had a neck-and-neck contest with BJP’s Ganesh Khankar, with the latter eventually winning with a margin of 797 votes. The counting for Ward 7 took the longest as one EVM machine wasn’t functioning properly. It displayed the total votes polled as 650 but did not give the segregation for each candidate. The returning officer had a discussion with Khankar and Saurabh, the top two candidates, before deciding upon the winner. Khankar got 10,148 votes and Ghosalkar 9,351.tnn
