Pune: An Akasa Air flight to Bengaluru was delayed by over four hours on Tuesday morning because of a technical glitch, leaving flyers seated in the cabin for around one-and-a-half hours before they were deboarded. The flight QP1312 was scheduled to take off from Pune at 8.50am and land in Bengaluru by 10.30am. A source said the boarding was completed on time but the aircraft — a Boeing 737 MAX — did not fly until 10am.“For a long time, no one told us what was going on. Then we were told that there was a technical issue and that the aircraft was being checked. Then suddenly we were told to deboard the plane,” a flyer said, requesting anonymity.“There was no point in making flyers sit in the aircraft for so long without proper information. All airlines tend to do this in case of delays. They do not provide proper and timely information to flyers for long,” he said, adding that he missed an important meeting because of the flight delay.A spokesperson of the airline said in the afternoon, “Akasa Air flight QP1312, scheduled to operate from Pune to Bengaluru on January 13, was delayed because of technical reasons. The aircraft is currently undergoing inspection, and the flight is now scheduled to depart at 1.15pm. Affected passengers were offered the option to reschedule on an evening flight. Our ground team and Akasa care officers are assisting the passengers. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.”The spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft flew around 1.30pm after the glitch was fixed and landed in Bengaluru at 2.31pm.
