Pune: The Vishrantwadi police on Wednesday afternoon exhumed the body of 17-year-old Amansingh Gachand, a resident of Vishrantwadi, from a forested hilly area near Gogalwadi off the Khed-Shivapur–Saswad road.Inspector Sampatrao Raut of Vishrantwadi police said the process to exhume the body was carried out in the presence of the local tehsildar and witnesses. “The arrested duo led us to the spot where they had buried the body,” Raut told TOI.Police said the body was in a decomposed state, and forensic experts conducted the post-mortem examination at the site.According to the police, the suspects took Gachand to an isolated stretch along the road, where they allegedly assaulted him with stones and billhooks, leading to his death.“They then noticed a trench on a hillside, dug earlier for plantation work by forest officials, and buried the body there after covering it with soil,” Raut said.
