New Delhi: Two friends were stabbed by four youths in Jahangirpuri, northwest Delhi. The incident was captured on video, which shows the assailants attacking the victims with knives before fleeing the spot. The accused later allegedly uploaded another video on social media, purportedly glorifying the attack.The victims were identified as Anshu (18) and Vimal (18), both residents of Jahangirpuri. Police received a PCR call around 2:55 pm regarding the incident that occurred at a lane in K Block, Jahangirpuri. They were taken to a hospital. Anshu sustained a stab injury to his right hand, while Vimal suffered multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his left hand, lower back and right upper arm.
The investigation revealed that the incident began when the four accused approached the victims and asked whether they knew a person named Sahil, which they denied. The attackers then enquired whether the victims lived in K Block. Suddenly, without further provocation, they began stabbing Anshu and Vimal.Anshu’s statement was recorded and a case was registered under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS. Police also recovered two videos related to the incident. In the first video, a woman’s screams can be heard as the four youths stab one of the victims while the other injured person sits nearby.The second video, reportedly uploaded from one of the alleged attackers’ social media handles, shows the youths claiming, “We killed two people,” and glorifying their actions.A senior police officer said teams were formed to track and apprehend the suspects involved in the case. They are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the routes taken by the suspects to escape the scene.
