Pune: The BJP state chief, Ravindra Chavan, on Saturday cited the example of Kalyan-Dombivli municipal body to justify the unopposed election of 68 Mahayuti candidates in different municipal corporations to counter the opposition’s charge of power misuse. Chavan said, “BJP and Shiv Sena contested against each other for several years in Kalyan-Dombivli. This time, BJP has formed an alliance with Shiv Sena. Therefore, there is no opposition in the civic body now. So, some of the candidates won unopposed.”
