On day 1 of 2026, 3 killed in separate stabbing incidents

New Delhi: On the first day of the year, three separate stabbing incidents in Delhi left three people dead, including a minor boy and a 50-year-old tailor.In the first incident, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death late Wednesday in Sultan Puri’s C Block.

Police received information around 10.40 pm that a boy had been stabbed. The boy was taken to SGM Hospital, Mangolpuri, where doctors declared him brought dead.”The main accused, Vikram (30), a resident of Sultan Puri, was arrested, and the knife used in the crime was also seized,” a senior police officer said.Vikram disclosed that two accomplices were also present at the spot. Efforts are underway to trace them.In another case, a 20-year-old e-rickshaw driver, Vikas, was stabbed to death during a quarrel triggered by old enmity over a minor issue in Mangolpuri’s D Block. The driver and his acquaintance, Sandeep (20), were sitting in the area when a group of youths approached them and began arguing. The dispute escalated and Vikas was stabbed. Sandeep suffered minor injuries. Four minors were apprehended and two adults were arrested.The third stabbing was reported from Adarsh Nagar, where a 50-year-old tailor, Bihari Lal, was killed following a minor altercation. Lal, a resident of Azadpur, was taken to BJRM Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police said Lal allegedly slapped a minor boy during an argument, after which the boy stabbed him in a fit of rage. The minor boy has been apprehended and the weapon used in the offence seized.In a fourth incident, a partly burnt body of a 38-year-old property dealer, Bhupender was found near a farm house in the Lampur village area of Narela on Thursday. Police said that he had been bleeding from his head. An unburnt note of Rs 500 in a container and his mobile phone were seized.
