Dispute over pet: Dog bite escalated into quarrel between neighbours in Delhi's Geeta Colony

NEW DELHI: A dispute over a pet dog allegedly biting a man escalated into a physical alterca between two neighbouring families in east Delhi’s Geeta Colony late on Monday night.A PCR call was received at 11.03 pm from Rizwan alias Raju (40), a resident of Rani Garden, who alleged that the pet dog of his neighbour, Neelam Singhal, bit his servant, Sarthak Negi. Rizwan claimed he asked Singhal to keep the dog under control, following which an argument broke out between both sides.Police said the situation escalated after Singhal allegedly called several known persons to the spot, leading to another round of arguments and a quarrel between the 2 parties.Singhal, 36, told cops that she, her 17-year-old daughter, and 3 of her acquaintances, Kartik (21) of Roop Nagar, Rishi Sharma (24) of Ekta Enclave, Faridabad, and Aditya (22) of Gulabi Bagh, were injured during the altercation.The other side, including Rizwan, Sarthak Negi alias Maggi (27), and Shahid (36), also claimed they were assaulted and sustained injuries, police said.However, police said that no visible external injuries were found on either party.All individuals involved were sent for medical examination, and legal action is being initiated, police added.
