The Embassy of Romania to the Republic of India hosted its National Day Reception on 26 November 2025 at The Imperial Hotel in New Delhi. The event marked the historic Great Union of 1918, a defining moment that shaped modern Romania. This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as Romania and India marked 77 years of diplomatic relations. The evening reflected the strong and growing partnership between the two countries, built on shared values, cultural exchange and expanding cooperation. The reception was hosted by H E Sena Latif, Ambassador of Romania to India. Known for her warm and forward-looking approach, the Ambassador has played a key role in strengthening Romania–India ties, with a strong focus on cultural diplomacy, education and creative collaboration. The evening began with the Romanian National Anthem performed by Iulia Vântur, the well-known Romanian artist whose career spans Bollywood and international stages. She also presented a few musical pieces from her global repertoire. The Indian National Anthem was performed by Srijan Arora, a young Indian talent known for blending classical music with modern technology. Guests were treated to a vibrant performance by the Transilvania Folkloric Ensemble of Baia Mare, which brought Romania’s rich folk dance traditions to life. Another highlight was an architectural exhibition curated by Architect Rajendra Kumar, symbolising the shared artistic and cultural links between Romania and India. The ceremony was smoothly anchored by Dr Sanjaanaa Jon, an internationally recognised Indian filmmaker and philanthropist. The evening brought together diplomats, senior officials, cultural and business leaders, and members of the Romanian community, who also enjoyed authentic Romanian cuisine. The Embassy of Romania thanked all guests for being part of a memorable evening celebrating friendship, culture and the evolving bond between Romania and India.
