Videos of Kailash Kher shouting at the crowd and saying ‘ Janwargiri mat kariye ’ have surfaced online from a recent concert he performed in Gwalior. In the clips, the singer is heard saying, “ Humne aapki prashansa ki aur aap itna janwargiri kar rahe hain. Janwargiri mat kariye , please.” In another video, he is seen warning the crowd not to touch the band’s equipment, saying he would stop performing if they did.The incident occurred while he was performing Bam Lahiri , when the crowd began stepping on power supply cables and other equipment. Speaking to us, the singer explains what actually happened. “ Unhe laga stage pe jaa sakte hain, toh kuch stage pe chadhne lage. Humein laga stampede na ho jaye, tab humne bola ‘janwargiri mat kariye, humein show band karna padega’. We paused our performance for some time, but continued once everything was sorted,” he says.‘I WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HARM’Addressing the larger issue of audience behaviour at concerts, Kailash says, “The crowd and the performer have an unsaid agreement and attachment. But usmein bhi limit, protocol aur discipline toh hona hi chahiye. We get a lot of love from our fans, fans that are like family to us. Pehle yeh pyaar sirf actors ko milta tha, par hum nonfilmi background se aate hain, upar se hum spiritual music karte hain. Toh isliye humare cross-generation fans hain. Pagal ho jaate hain ki unko humein dekhna hai, choona hai, par usmein humein dar lagta hai ki unhe khud chot na lag jaaye.”
Chaos broke out during Kailash Kher’s Friday concert. Fans jumped barricades and stormed the stage, trying to get closer to the singer while he performed his hits
“Whenever there is a big crowd, we always make sure that people are safe, there is no stampede. But all of them have phones and they want photos and selfies, and sunte hi nahi hain ki hum keh rahe hain barricades pe mat chadho. Tab maine bola ki bhai pagalpan achcha hai par itna nahi. Aap protocol mein aaoge toh naachoge, main aapke saath naachoonga, par aap aise discipline follow nahi karoge toh mujhe show band karna padega. But it was all under control after some time. I’d want people to understand that they can hurt themselves and others like this,” he adds.‘LOGON MEIN BILKUL PATIENCE NAHI HAI’Discussing the unruly behaviour of fans, he adds, “They follow our cars, forgetting they are on the road. You should follow the rules – at least take care of yourself and others around you. Log gir jaate hain road pe . They come to the airports, then start blocking our way for selfies. Aap prem kariye, lekin thoda apna bhi dhyaan rakhiye. Basic manners toh hone chahiye. I don’t get angry with this behaviour, but I think logon mein bilkul patience nahi hai . Hum bhi aapko support karna chahte hain, but thoda control toh hona chahiye.”
