Pune: A motorcycle rider, Bhushan Ahirrao (35) of Manjari Budruk, died while his younger brother, Pankaj (32), who was riding pillion, suffered minor injuries after a dumper truck hit their motorcycle on the Manjari-Mundhwa road in Keshavnagar around 10.30pm on Monday.Pankaj lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday.Senior inspector Smita Wasnik of the Mundhwa police told TOI: “The truck driver fled from the scene after hitting the motorcycle. We are studying CCTV camera footage of the spot to ascertain the registration number of the truck to trace its driver and owner.”Wasnik said, “The brothers were working with a commercial establishment in Mundhwa and were returning home after their work when the truck hit their motorcycle from the rear.”The officer added that the truck driver neglected the safety of the other road users and, without slowing down or applying brakes, hit the motorcycle.
