A.P. Dhillon’s One of One concert in Delhi started with the singer making his way through a hallway of fans. The Delhi crowd, which had been waiting for some time now, lined both sides of the barricaded pathway in anticipation, before erupting into cheers as a calm Dhillon moved towards the stage. This was probably the only segment of the concert which the audience could have predicted. Dhillon’s stop in Delhi — his second on this tour — at the Indira Gandhi Arena transported the audience from a chilly winter night to a high-energy dance party.

When speaking to his audience, Dhillon is a man of few words. But he is more than eager to launch into his hits for a sea of fans waiting to join him in singing ‘Brown Munde.’ From a 360° stage in the middle of the arena, Dhillon’s infectious energy spreads forth in all directions as he begins to go through his roster of hits. ‘Tere Te’, ‘Desires’, ‘Chehra’, and ‘Drip’ did a successful job at setting up the Delhi crowd for a night that had much more to offer in store.

On stage, Dhillon was joined by fans at regular intervals as he picked them from the crowd. The lucky few got to sing a verse of ‘Excuses’ with Dhillon next to them. The Indo-Canadian rapper’s constant companion on stage turned out to be Shinda Kahlon, who matched Dhillon’s energy for each song that came his way through the night.

Dhillon’s tracklist oscillated between crowd favourites and songs closer to his heart. ‘Spaceship’, ‘Old Money’, and ‘Summer High’ were punctuated by ‘Fake’ – his first single from 2019 which he noted that he was performing for the first time onstage.

Dhillon’s favourite thing to do all night, it seems, was to keep the crowd on their toes. Be that through his music or the handful of surprises he had planned. Noting that he never got to meet the idol who inspired his music – Sardool Sikander – Dhillon invited on stage Sardool’s son Alaap for a tribute performance. “My way of giving back to the Punjabi music community,” Dhillon said.

Those attending the concert had spent the days leading up to it attempting to predict who might join Dhillon as the star surprise performer. Alas, neither Anuv Jain nor Ayra Starr were to be found at Indira Gandhi Arena for ‘Afsos’ and ‘Bora Bora’ respectively. Though it was not long before the unsuspecting crowd took to cheer and exclaim in confirmation that it was indeed Babbu Maan who had decided to join the party. Dhillon found himself to be quite at home singing ‘Pakki Kanak’ and ‘Saun Di Jhadi’ alongside Maan.

Delhi’s curfew timings came to haunt this concert as well. With the deadline approaching fast, Dhillon advised his crew to skip some songs, before he picked up the guitar for a pared down rendition of ‘Dil Nu’.

Dhillon’s One of One Tour is next headed to Pune, but those in Delhi who were witness to the two-hour long concert will have enough memories of a ‘Summer High’ to carry them across the frigid winter.

AP Dhillon’s One of One India Tour 2025 is produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live and Team Innovation in India.
