The flight cancellation anguish prevailed among passengers, though. Nilesh Adhikari, whose flight to Kolkata was cancelled on Monday, was among them.“I had booked the ticket around two months ago. The last four-five days were very tense. I was not getting any information from the airline as to whether the flight would be operational or not. I got to know only on Sunday evening that it was cancelled. I have applied for a refund. The airline should have a plan to ensure that information about flight cancellations reaches passengers early. I tried the airline’s mobile application and website, but they remained unresponsive,” he said.Shivaji Jagtap, whose Nagpur flight was cancelled on Monday, said strict action should be taken against the airline. “They (airline authorities) did all these things deliberately and the govt should act tough on them. Harassing so many flyers is criminal,” he said.Another flyer, requesting anonymity, said the airport officials should develop its infrastructure. “The airport officials and the minister of state for civil aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, said they were set to get land from the IAF (Indian Air Force) for five new parking bays and three remote bays. What is its status? While govt processes take time, the airport authorities need to expedite the same urgently. Had there been more bays, the chaos could have been contained,” the flyer said.Earlier, Mohol said the land transfer would be completed by October. Sources said the same was expected soon.
