Outage hits AI’s check-ins at many airports, flights delayed

Mumbai: Air India on Tuesday evening informed its passengers about significant delays across its network after a third-party system disruption affected check-in operations at multiple airports. In a statement posted on X, the airline said the outage had led to longer processing times at airports. Airport teams were “working diligently to ensure a smooth check-in experience”, but some flights may continue to face delays until the system is fully restored, the airline said. Air India advised travellers to check their flight status on its website before heading to the airport and to allow extra time for their journey. The airline added that while systems were being progressively stabilised, full normalisation may take time. Flight tracking service Flightradar24 showed Air India flights running heavily behind schedule. Among the affected flights were late evening departures from Mumbai airport to cities like Hyderabad, Doha, Kochi and Dubai. Air India did not issue a media statement. tnn
