Palam Railway crossing closed for three months: Traffic advisory issued

New Delhi: As Palam Railway crossing will be closed for three months, effective from Nov 3 due to ongoing construction work, traffic in the surrounding areas is expected to be affected. Traffic officials have urged motorists to plan their journeys accordingly. Vehicles travelling from Dwarka towards Delhi Cantonment or Dhaula Kuan have been advised to use the Palam–Dwarka Flyover. Commuters coming from Manglapuri are advised to take the route via Parshuram Chowk and Palam Flyover. Those approaching from Palam Colony side may use alternate roads via Parshuram Chowk, Manglapuri and Bhagat Chandra Hospital Chowk to reach Palam Flyover Road. Heavy vehicles must avoid the Palam stretch and use Ring Road or NH-48 instead, the advisory said. Use of public transport has been encouraged to reduce congestion during the closure.The Palam Railway Crossing is a vital link between Dwarka and Delhi Cantonment, used by thousands of commuters daily.
