Mumbai: A Congress delegation led by its city-chief and MP Varsha Gaikwad submitted a written complaint to Mumbai police commissioner Deven Bharti seeking registration of an FIR against BJP Mumbai chief Ameet Satam for allegedly issuing threat to her party leader and promoting disharmony between religious groups.Gaikwad stated in her complaint that she came across a TV interview in which Satam referred to Congress MLA from Malad Aslam Shaikh using a derogatory word and mentioning his religion, threatening to bury him and others like him. She alleged Satam had promoted disharmony and feelings of enmity, hatred and ill-will between religious communities.Earlier, BJP leader and minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha had filed a written police complaint against Aslam Shaikh, stating that he had threatened to finish him and his family, after which Satam came to Lodha’s support and issued a warning to Shaikh.
