JNU set to host national seminar on NE

New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University‘s Special Centre for the Study of North East India will host a national seminar on “Ecology, Sustainability and Community Practices in North East India” on Nov 27–28. Funded by the North Eastern Council, the seminar will bring together scholars, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss local knowledge-based solutions to climate and livelihood challenges in the region. The event will feature lectures by academics and practitioners, including Padma Shri awardee Trinity Saioo. Sessions will highlight community-led models such as Meghalaya’s sacred groves, Nagaland’s Zabo water harvesting, and Sikkim’s organic farming, while exploring issues of flood adaptation, biodiversity, and cross-border practices. tnn
