New Delhi: A 42-year-old employee of a jeweller in Chandni Chowk was robbed of gold and jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh in northwest Delhi’s Subhash Place area on Wednesday afternoon.The victim, Subhash Ramka, sustained injuries during the attack and was admitted to a nearby hospital. Police were alerted after receiving information from hospital authorities regarding his admission.During questioning, Ramka told police that around 3 pm, he and his colleague Gopal—both employed by jeweller Pankaj Jain—had gone near Kohat Metro Station to show jewellery samples to potential clients. While Gopal stood a short distance away, two unidentified men approached Ramka and suddenly attacked him.A scuffle broke out, during which the assailants managed to snatch a bag containing gold and jewellery estimated to be worth Rs 40 lakh. The duo then fled the scene, reportedly in the direction of Rohini.Police said a case is being registered, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects. Teams have been formed, and investigators are scanning CCTV footage from the area to trace the attackers. “We are working on multiple leads,” a police official said. tnn
