Traffic restrictions for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas ceremony | Delhi News



New Delhi: Vehicular and pedestrian movement will face restrictions across several key routes in the New Delhi area on Oct 31 to facilitate the tribute ceremony for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. According to Delhi Traffic Police, movement will be affected on Ashoka Road, Sansad Marg, C-Hexagon, Mathura Road, Purana Qila Road, and adjoining stretches during specific hours. From 6am to 7.30am, no vehicles will be allowed at Patel Chowk, Sansad Marg, Rafi Marg and Ashoka Road. Parked vehicles will be towed to designated pits at Kali Bari Mandir Marg and Bhairon Mandir. Between 7.30am and 9.30am, restrictions will expand to include C-Hexagon, Mathura Road, Shershah Road, Zakir Hussain Road and Subramaniam Bharti Marg. In the evening, from 3.30pm to 7.30pm, movement will again be restricted around Patel Chowk, Sansad Marg, Kartavya Path and C-Hexagon. Motorists have been advised to avoid routes such as Sansad Marg, Rafi Marg, Ashoka Road, Mathura Road, Purana Qila Road and the Pragati Maidan Tunnel. Parking will be available at DLF Multilevel Parking on Baba Kharak Singh Marg, NDMC parking lots at Connaught Place and Bhairon Mandir. Commuters heading to railway stations, ISBTs, or airports are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use public transport to avoid delays.
