New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) took a significant step towards fostering an inclusive and supportive environment by inaugurating its first lactation room. This dedicated, private space is designed to provide nursing mothers on campus with comfort and privacy, addressing a crucial need for women balancing motherhood with their academic and professional pursuits. The inauguration ceremony was graced by a new mother from the IIT Delhi community, symbolising the real-life impact of this initiative.Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, reiterated the institute’s commitment to creating a campus culture that values diversity, inclusion, and well-being. This initiative was made possible through CSR support from Shorthills AI, a global technology company specialising in data and generative AI services, which is dedicated to driving inclusive change.Paramdeep Singh, co-founder of Shorthills AI and an alumnus of IIT Delhi, expressed his enthusiasm for giving back to the institution. He remarked, “True progress begins with equal opportunity and care for all. Supporting IIT Delhi in this endeavour aligns with our core values of enabling and uplifting women at every stage of their journey.
