Delhi fire: Blaze at Dilshad Garden e-rickshaw charging station kills two; including 60-year-old man

NEW DELHI: A fire erupted Sunday night at an e-rickshaw charging station in Dilshad Garden’s Kodi Colony, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a 60-year-old man. The incident, which occurred around 11.32 pm, quickly escalated.Upon receiving the distress call, four fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Firefighters battled the intense blaze for over an hour, finally bringing it under control by 12.35 am on Monday morning.The rapid spread of the fire posed a significant challenge, engulfing multiple vehicles and threatening the surrounding residential structure.The fire originated at a ground-floor charging point, where it rapidly consumed two e-rickshaws and a parked motorcycle. Two individuals, 24-year-old Sashi and 60-year-old Bablu, suffered critical burn injuries in the inferno. Both victims were rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention but were tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, and cops have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to this fatal event. The building where the fire occurred is described as being approximately 25 square yards in area, comprising a ground floor and three additional upper floors.
