Navi Mumbai: Cidco has started part of the construction of Kamothe’s missing service road link along the Mumbai bound carriageway of the Sion-Panvel highway. This will help motorists access Kamothe node easily by using Kalamboli underpass. The service road is stretched between Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation’s Jawahar industrial estate (MGM hospital) and the main entrance of the Kamothe node.Amol Shitole, president of Ekta Samajik Sanstha said, “The demand is to link the entire service road from Kamothe main entrance and the MGM hospital to enable the node residents to access Kalamboli subway and reduce traffic jams. This will improve the road connectivity”. Social activist, Alpesh Mane said, ” Cidco has commenced work between Parth hotel and Tharwani building. Senior police inspector of Kalamboli traffic unit, Ajay Bhosale, has written to Cidco’s executive engineer to ensure reduced traffic.“Resident, Jaykumar Digole said, “The residents have to use the highway to reach CNG pump and waste time on traffic. MIDC should cooperate and allow the missing link work to commence fully”. Cidco executive engineer-Kamothe Rohini Yeware said, “Our planning department has yet to decide on the rest of the missing link.”
