New Delhi: A 37-year-old man involved in a dacoity and abduction case dating back to 2014 was arrested in Loni. The accused was identified as Rakesh, a resident of Kishan Ganj, Delhi.Police received information indicating that Rakesh was hiding near Delhi border in Loni. However, his frequent changes of hideouts complicated efforts to locate him. “Rakesh was arrested in Chaman Vihar, Loni,” police said.During sustained interrogation, he admitted his involvement in the dacoity and abduction that took place in Jhandewalan on the night of Dec 26, 2014. He disclosed that he, along with 5–6 accomplices, robbed the driver of his money and mobile phone by threatening him with dire consequences. After about two hours, the driver was abandoned near Dhaula Kuan, while the accused fled with the mini truck and goods.
