Thane: Police arrested four members of Shikalkar gang, who broke into houses across Thane, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, and Bhiwandi. The arrests led to the solving of 40 burglary cases across Thane and Navi Mumbai police commissionerate areas. Police recovered expensive vehicles and jewellery worth Rs 39.5 lakh from the accused. The arrested gang members were identified as Vijaysingh Andhasingh Junni alias Shikalkar (24), Sonusingh Jitendrasingh Junni (27), Sunny Kartasingh Sardar (27), and Atul Khandale (24). The trio — Vijaysingh, Sonusingh, and Atul already have 28 past cases registered against them at various police stations in Pune. Vijaysingh alone has 20 cases against him, making him the most wanted among the group. MMR region witnessed a spate of burglaries. Thane crime investigation department initiated a detailed investigation into one such case from Kalyan from where they were able to arrest the four gang members.
