NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday permitted manufacturers certified by the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) to produce green firecrackers.However, the court made it clear that manufacturers must submit an undertaking stating that no firecrackers will be sold in the Delhi-NCR region until further orders.The directive aims to strike a balance between supporting certified manufacturers and addressing air pollution concerns in the national capital region, particularly during the festive season.(With agencies inputs)
