MUMBAI: Within four hours of registering an FIR in connection with a Borivali resident being assaulted and robbed, the Kasturba Marg police tracked down two of the accused and arrested them.The incident occurred around 6.15 pm at Magathane, Borivali East, on Sept 22. The complainant, Mukesh Survekar, works in housekeeping. He was returning home from work when a few men known to him accosted him and asked him for money. Survekar told them that he did not have any. The men then slapped Survekar and pushed him to the ground before stealing his gold chain and cellphone. When Survekar raised an alarm, the accused fled.An FIR was registered at 6.15 pm after Survekar approached the police. Kasturba Marg police laid a trap and nabbed two of the accused, Samir Shaikh, 24, and Sujal Chavan, 21. Police recovered the fold chain and phone stolen from Survekar.
