Train commuter hit with wrench after tiff at Dahisar station in Mumbai

Mumbai: A scrap with a co-traveller while getting off a local train left a 47-year-old commuter with injuries to his face caused by a wrench.The incident took place when the victim, Suresh Patil, was travelling in a packed second class compartment of a Borivli-bound train from Virar on Sept 22. Around 10.15am, while getting off at Dahisar station, a co-traveller, later identified as M M Khan (45) brushed against him. Patil told Khan to be careful, which sparked a verbal spat between them. The argument snowballed into violence when Khan allegedly threw a wrench at Patil which hit him under his eye. Patil started bleeding. He took Khan to on-duty police personnel at Dahisar station. The duo was taken to Borivli GRP chowky where a case was registered against Khan. Patil was sent to a hospital for treatment.
