Pune: A man (52) and his two-year-old grandson were killed after a four-wheeler hit them in the Davadamala area in Chakan late on Saturday night.The Chakan police identified the deceased as Muralidhar Lad. His daughter’s son also died in the accident, the police said. The driver fled with the vehicle.Senior inspector Sanjay Solanke of the Chakan police said the police had registered a case of causing death by negligence against the unknown driver. “We are searching for him,” Solanke said.Another officer from the Chakan police said the accident occurred when Lad and his grandson were walking along the road near a housing society. An unknown vehicle knocked them down. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the accident. Residents of the area took the duo to a nearby hospital, where they succumbed to injuries, the officer said.
