Navi Mumbai: Alert Citizens Forum in Navi Mumbai has notified Cidco officials about the collapse of the wall at Urban Haat on the road between Urban Haat and Belapur railway station which occurred due to rains. The road is used daily by thousands of passengers including students, local citizens, women, and senior citizens. The roadside wall is in a dangerous condition and is at risk of further collapse.Cidco said necessary measures would be taken soon to address the issue. “The road is a vital connection in the area, and any delay in repairing the wall could result in a major accident and potential loss of life. Permanent measures should be planned and implemented to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future,” said activist Sudhir Dani. The Forum has consistently followed up on road maintenance, and as a result, asphalting was carried out in May this year. However, within just three months, the road developed numerous potholes, raising concerns about the quality of work done by Cidco. — B B Nayak
