NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested three armed members of the notorious Gogi gang following an encounter in the Budh Vihar area under Rohini district on Saturday. The operation, led by SHO Karuna Sagar, saw a brief exchange of fire, during which two suspects sustained bullet injuries and were admitted to a hospital for treatment. The arrested individuals have been identified as Irfan, Lalu, and Nitesh. Two other members of the gang managed to flee the scene. Several pistols and weapons were recovered from the apprehended criminals, who are reportedly linked to multiple criminal cases in the capital. Police sources confirmed that the matter is under investigation and efforts are underway to trace the two absconding suspects.Earlier arrest of rape-accused criminal in North-West Delhi In a separate operation on Thursday night, Delhi Police arrested a man wanted in connection with a rape case registered at Shalimar Bagh police station. The accused, identified as Guddu, has a long criminal record, including cases of rape, attempted murder, and armed robbery, and was out on bail in an attempt-to-murder case. Acting on intelligence, Head Constable Satya Narender and a police team led by Inspector Somveer Singh, under the supervision of ACP Ranjeet Dhaka, laid a trap near Kuda Khatta, AU Block. Guddu was spotted around 1.00am moving from CA Block jhuggis towards Ekta Camp Jhuggis. When police instructed him to surrender, Guddu allegedly opened fire on the team. One bullet struck Head Constable Narsi Ram’s bulletproof jacket, preventing injury. In response, HC Satya Narender fired two shots, the second striking Guddu in the right leg and bringing him down. He was then arrested and taken for medical treatment. Police said both operations reflect targeted actions against notorious criminals in Delhi and investigations are ongoing.
