Palghar: The villagers of Narnoli hamlet in Jawhar taluka, Palghar, were forced to carry home the body of a man who died in a hospital for 2km through rough terrain on a makeshift bamboo-and-cloth stretcher Sunday afternoon. Mahendra Jadhav (45), resident of Narnoli, died following an ailment Saturday night. Since it was night and the hamlet does not have proper roads, the next morning, the villagers carried the body home for final rituals. This hamlet, like several others in Palghar district, has no internal road connectivity to the main road, said villagers. — Vishal Rajemahadik
