Pune: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday called on former Pune MP Suresh Kalmadi who has been admitted to a private hospital in Pune. “It was a planned visit. Pawar enquired about Kalmadi’s health. The former MP greeted and spoke to Pawar,” Ankush Kakade, spokesperson of NCP (SP), told TOI. A close Kalmadi aide said he has been in hospital for the last four days for a routine health check and treatment. “Kalmadi is doing well. No serious health issues have been reported,” he added.He is expected to be discharged in the next few days as per doctors’ advice and will continue to follow his routine, the aide added. A senior Congress leader from the city said that Kalmadi has been doing well and his hospital visit was for a routine check.
