Kalyan: The Khadakpada police in Kalyan have registered a case of fraud against a Thane-based doctor couple for duping a fellow doctor and a pharmacist of Rs 70 lakh.The accused, Dr. Prasad Sali and his wife Vaishali, residents of Hiranandani Estate, Thane, promised to set up a 50-bed hospital near the RTO office in Icon Building, Kalyan, and assured Kalyan based Dr Rahul Dubey and pharmacist Pragya Kamble of giving them rights to a medical store in the facility. The couple allegedly took Rs 70 lakh in May 2024 from both, promising the hospital would start within three months.Despite signing an agreement, the hospital never built, and the money was not returned. Police suspect accused couple took money from some more doctors in name of opening hospital in similar way and probe about the same is going on.
