Pune: The Wanowrie police are on the lookout for a knife-wielding man who allegedly threatened a 16-year-old boy and snatched his cellphone worth Rs 10,000 at Samvidhan Chowk around 10.15pm on Sept 9.The boy’s father (61), who works with a private firm, lodged a complaint with the police on Friday evening. Sub-inspector Umesh Mahadik of the Wanowrie police told TOI, “The boy was out for a walk after dinner when the suspect approached him from behind and held a knife to his neck. The attacker then forced him into a narrow lane within a nearby slum area and snatched his mobile phone. We are reviewing CCTV footage of the area to identify him. We suspect that the robber hails from the same area.”When asked about the delay in reporting the incident, Mahadik said, “The boy, a Std XI student, was in shock after the attack. He eventually shared the details with his father, who then encouraged him to come forward and speak about it.”
