4 men assault angadia and his driver on busy Mumbai road, tie them up, and flee with Rs 2.5cr cash

Mumbai: Four armed men assaulted an employee of an angadia firm (traditional courier) and his driver on a busy road in Girgaum, tied them up in his car, and fled with Rs 2.5 crore cash on Wednesday night.The incident took place near Arth Cotton Construction building, just 100m away from V P Marg police station, said the complainant, Narayan (51). He told police that he was travelling with his driver, Baijnath Yadav, with the cash when the unidentified men intercepted his car around 8pm. Police said the men overpowered Narayan and Yadav, rendered them unconscious, and tied them to their seats with nylon ropes before escaping with the bag containing the cash.V P Marg police and crime branch have prepared sketches of the suspects, and are scanning CCTV footage from the area to track them down. Police suspect that an insider had tipped off the assailants that the angadia was carrying Rs 2.5 crore cash.
