NALASOPARA: An Air Conditioner (AC) dealer from Nalasopara was kidnapped by a Kalyan based person and an unidentified person who was angered over non delivery of AC and pending unpaid advance. The Achole cops (Nalasopara) had sent their team after the AC dealers family approached them and booked the duo under charges of kidnapping and assault. The duo was remanded to police custody after they were presented in Vasai court on Thursday. In his complaint, Nalasopara resident Tulsiram Mishra, 45, said that Kalyan resident Deepak Ghayar had asked for 4/5 AC’s in July 2025 and had paid him rupees four lakhs via online payment. After delivering half the requirement, Mishra returned 1.66 lakhs to Deepak stating that further requirement was not possible. Upset with this, Deepak went to his Nalasopara house and claimed that he suffered losses due to non-fulfilment of order and demanded compensation.Under pressure, Mishra gave him two blank cheques and directed him to pay once he told him to, as he had to maintain some balance. However, in August, Deepak deposited those cheques which bounced. On Sept 10, afternoon Deepak along with an unidentified person visited his apartment and called him and started abusing and assaulting him, claimed Miosra in his complaint. Lets go to the police station said Deepak and Mishra sat in their car but instead took him to Kalyan. When the family called on his phone, they were told to compensate for the loss and only then Mishra would be released. Meanwhile, Mishra was assaulted in the car also.Meanwhile the family reached Achole police station and narrated the incident. “We then called Mishra to reach Bazar Peth police station”, said senior police inspector Anant Pednekar. When this call was being answered, Mishra was forced to say that he had willingly come to Kalyn with Deepak. The Achole cops had also intimated the bazar peth cops, who didnt allow Deepak and the unidentified person to leave and handed them to the Achole cops. The cops brought all of them to the police station and registered an FIR against them.
