Before being fatally stabbed, aggregator bike rider was robbed: Police | Delhi News

New Delhi: A day after a motorcycle rider working with an aggregator service was fatally stabbed in Rohini, police arrested two men and apprehended a minor for allegedly robbing the victim before killing him.The victim, identified as Rajjab Khan, was a resident of Ghaziabad. According to police, a PCR call was received at KNK Marg police station around 6.15am, reporting an accident near the sector 26 crematorium. Upon arriving at the scene, police found a man lying dead on the road with multiple stab wounds, said a senior police officer. Two motorcycles were also recovered—one belonging to the victim parked by the roadside, and the other lying in a nearby drain. A police team was formed. “CCTV footage was examined. A breakthrough came when the team traced the abandoned bike to Shahbad Dairy. The owner said his son, Krissh, 19, took the bike the previous night and did not return,” DCP (Rohini) Rajeev Ranjan said. Krissh was tracked down. “During interrogation, he admitted to robbing Rajjab with the help of Ankit Prasad Thakur (18), a 17-year-old boy and another associate. The plan was hatched on Tuesday early morning when the three met at a park in sector 17. One of their associates, still absconding, booked a ride through an app to lure Rajjab to the spot,” DCP Ranjan added. According to police, around 4am, Rajjab drove the associate to his drop point. There, Krissh, Ankit and the minor allegedly robbed him of Rs 570 and his mobile phone. While they tried to escape on Krissh’s bike, Rajjab chased them down. This led Ankit to pull out a knife and repeatedly stab him to death. The accused abandoned the bike after it skidded into a drain and fled from there, said police. Police have recovered the blood-stained clothes and the murder weapon. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
