North Delhi building collapse: MCD had declared it unsafe; fire team saved 14 from adjoining structure
The building, situated in a narrow lane of Punjabi Basti, came down with a loud crash.

NEW DELHI: A four-storey building collapsed early Monday morning in North Delhi’s Subzi Mandi area. As per news agency PTI, no casualties were reported in the incident. Officials from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) confirmed that the structure had been previously declared unsafe by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and was vacant at the time of the collapse.The DFS received an emergency call at 3.05am, dispatching five fire tenders to the scene. The building, situated in a narrow lane of Punjabi Basti, came down with a loud crash. Fire personnel also rescued 14 people trapped in the adjoining structure during the operation.(With agency inputs)
