Madha MP to file privilege motion against state’s chief secretary for not furnishing details sought by him | Pune News

Pune: NCP(SP)’s Lok Sabha MP from Madha constituency Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil has claimed that he would bring a privilege notice in Parliament against state chief secretary Rajesh Kumar for not furnishing the details he had sought from the state govt as an elected representative.Patil said on Sunday he had sought details about the status of Ujani dam aqua tourism project and reasons for water pollution in the reservoir. “Since the last year, I had been following up with the officials of Krishna Valley Development Corporation regarding the delay in implementing the Ujani tourism project and with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board on the reasons for the dam water pollution. It is quite sad that there was no response.”“When I wrote to the National Pollution Control Board, I got a positive response from them, and the central govt also assured me that it would be sending a team to Ujani dam post-monsoon to test the dam water. However, the state govt officials are so arrogant that they have not responded to my letter,” the Madha MP said.Patil said that he had complained to the Lok Sabha secretary against the state govt officials for not responding to an MP’s query. “Based on my complaint, the first notice was sent to the state govt in July and the second in Aug, but the state govt did not respond to any of these notices. Therefore, now I would bring a privilege notice against the state’s chief secretary in Parliament,” Patil said.TOI tried to contact the state chief secretary, but could not get in touch with him despite repeated attempts.
