Mumbai: The Kokannagar Govinda Pathak of Jogeshwari and Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan Trust have gained recognition in the Guinness Book of Records for forming the tallest human pyramid at 10 tiers, reports Bella Jaisinghani. The achievement occurred Aug 16 during dahi handi 2025 at Sanskruti’s event in Thane. However, another champion team Jai Jawan, also of Jogeshwari, says it formed 10 layers three times the same day but has not been recognised. The certificate was presented to Kokannagar at Siddhivinayak temple Thursday. Coach Vivek Kochrekar said, “We are the first team to form 10 layers in India. The Guinness verified it by proper norms.”However, Jai Jawan has objected to this entry. Coach Sandeep Dhavale said, “We too formed 10 layers on dahi handi at three venues on Aug 16. It was a hat trick. We had achieved a Guinness record in 2012, for the tallest pyramid at 42.79 ft for nine tiers. Guinness representatives were present on site. But this time, the record has been granted for 10 tiers without their representatives being there. Neither was the height measured. Two days ago, Guinness representatives told me there was no proposal other than ours. But we were shocked with the winner announced last night.”
