Pune: A 26-year-old softare engineer, his wife and their woman friend were injured when their car crashed into a closed shop at Dhayari along the Sinhagad Road in the early hours of Monday. The techie, who was driving the car to his resident near Nal Stop on Karve Road from Dhayari, lost control over the four-wheeler, resulting in the crash, Nanded City police officials said.All three injured were admitted to a private hospital for treatment of varying degrees of injury, police said. Another woman in the car survived without any injury, police said and added that a case of negligence causing injury has been registered against the techie. Senior inspector Atul Bhos of Nanded City police said, “The techie, his wife and their two women friends were returning to his home after attending a birthday party at a relative’s house in Dhayari. As their car approached Dhayari phata, the techie lost control over the vehicle and it veered off the road to crash into a general store.”“The front shutter and some articles inside the shop were damaged due to the impact of the crash,” Bhos said. “We have taken the techie’s blood samples to ascertain if he was driving the vehicle in an inebriated condition. A test report is awaited. The victims are also under treatment at hospital,” he added.
