Pune: Major General Atul Seth assumed charge as the dean and deputy commandant of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) on Monday. An AFMC alumnus commissioned in 1992, he holds an MD in obstetrics and gynaecology and an MPhil from the National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi.A specialist in minimal access surgery and urogynecology, he served in key appointments, including professor at AFMC and head of the department at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi. An academician, researcher, and editor, he was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022. He previously commanded the Military Hospital, Gwalior.
