Minors riding bike hit stationary car’s door; police book driver | Pune News



Pune: An underage motorcyclist (16) and two pillion riders (aged 15 and 16) suffered injuries after their two-wheeler collided with an open door of a stationary car at Quartergate Chowk in Nana Peth around 9pm on Aug 22.The father (43) of one of the minors, a resident of Bhawani Peth, lodged a complaint against the car driver (46) with the Samarth police on Friday. Senior inspector Uttam Gitte of the Samarth police said, “The car driver has been booked. One of the minor boys is still admitted to a hospital, while two others have been discharged.”According to the police, the car driver, who runs a shop in Bhawani Peth, was going towards Camp from Quartergate. He stopped the car after pulling it to the left side of the road and opened the door without looking back. The minors, riding triple-seat on the motorcycle, were trailing the car. The biker failed to stop the vehicle and collided with the open door.“All the boys fell on the road and suffered injuries to back and head. We will also register a case against the parents of the minor boy for handing over the vehicle to him,” Gitte said.
